Don’t you hate that whenever you cook a meal it makes your apartment or home smell for hours?! Sometimes it’s so hard to get rid of a smell, or you’re worried if your guest smells it.

How Can I Make I Make My House Smell Good Without Air Freshener?
Here is a list of DIY/natural ways to help make your home smell good.
1. Natural Candles
Very easy is candles. Candles help so much with getting scent out of a house quickly. You may want to shop around for non-toxic/natural candles to use inside your home.
Some brands *cough cough* Bath and Body Works *cough cough* tend to use toxic chemicals and can be terrible for us to breathe in.
You can find natural candles at your local health food store!
2. Baking Soda in a Jar
Want to create a natural air freshener? Place baking soda in a jar with a few drops of essential oils. Then mix them together.
You can sprinkle this on your carpets, then vacuum. Or you can place the mixture in a spray bottle with water and spray it around your home.
My mom use to do this with our carpet and it made our entire living smell so refreshing.
This is a great alternative to using air fresheners from Target or Walmart.
3. Boiling Citrus and Cinnamon
By far my favorite thing to do after cooking. My apartment tends to have the smell of any meal we make lingering after for a long time.
So what I do is cut up some lemons, oranges, and sprinkle some cinnamon inside a large pot of water.
Then allow it to bowl on low. After a few minutes, our entire apartment begins to smell soo good!
If you’re looking for a way to make your house smell good on a budget, try this one!
4. Plants/Flowers
Surprisingly some plants have a refreshing smell that can help you limit the odor in your home. Purchasing a couple of plants, or flowers can help make your home smell good and can be a nice way to spruce up your home.
If you have allergies to flowers or plants I highly suggest not trying this method!
5. Coffee
With the strong scent of coffee, yes it can help make your home smell good. Who doesn’t love smelling fresh coffee beans?
similar to number #3, you can boil some coffee beans in a pot for your place to smell like coffee, or place some.
Or if you find that your fridge is smelly, place an open container of coffee beans inside your fridge to help with the odor!
