Well here are some ways on how you can organize your kitchen to make it more welcoming!
This blog post is all about kitchen organization ideas for your apartment and small living spaces.
What Is The Best Way To Organize Your Kitchen?
The kitchen is by far one of the busiest places in your home.
With the bathroom coming in a close 2nd. This is where yourself and/or your family gets their food, drinks, cook, and so much more.
Down below are 12 organization ideas that you can implement in your kitchen today!
12 Best Kitchen Organization Ideas
1. Having A Spice Rack Beside your Fridge
If you find that all of your cabinets are full with dishes and barely have pantry space.
Why not get a spice rack that can hang on the side of your fridge?
Easy to install and less space in your kitchen cupboards.
2. Using Baskets with Labels
Using baskets with labels is a great way for you keep your kitchen supplies more organized and off the countertops.
For example, flour, powdered sugar, cinnamon would be in a basket categorized as “baking”.
You can place this basket in a cabinet close to where you usually bake or inside the pantry.
3. Paper Towel Roll Off Of The Counters
This kitchen organization idea is great for people who struggle with countertop space.
To help gain more space on your countertops, try attaching your paper towel roll underneath your cabinets.
You can make this permanent or if you live inside an apartment, you can find renter friendly paper towel rolls that can attach underneath your kitchen cabinets without any damages.
4. Closed Lid Containers For Dry Goods
For a very long time I have tried to prevent small critters out of our pantry and cupboard.
Anytime we have cookies we would place the packaging in ziploc bags or use chip bag clips to keep our food sealed.
Although this way was making our kitchen pantry look very disorganized.
I wanted to find a way where I can keep the bugs ou, while keeping my kitchen pantry organized.
Now we used clear closed lid containers.
This helps to keep the freshness of our snacks, prevents little critters from coming inside our kitchen.
Plus it looks aesthetically pleasing to look at!
5. Kitchen Towels in a Container
Do you love to have kitchen towels near your stove or hanging out off of the kitchen sink?
Do you struggle to pack away your kitchen towels in drawers without them spilling out?
Use Containers!
I use containers to place my kitchen towels in because;
1) I wanted to use my drawers for other things.
2) Can easily fit underneath the kitchen sink.
You can find containers with lids or without lids.
6. Pots and Pans Lid Organizer
Usually I store my pots and pans lid underneath the stove with the rest of my baking pans.
I find this to be super loud or annoying when I have to lift and push everything else to get to what I want.
If you struggle with this as well I highly suggest to get a pots and pans organizer.
This will help with limiting the annoying lifting, and reduce the risk of breaking your glass lids. (almost happened to me!)
7. Clear Containers with Handles
I saw these on Tiktok and had to get them for my first apartment. I highly recommend these organizational product to anyone!
It’s suppose to be use in your fridge but you can use these containers in multiple ways.
You can use the containers in the kitchen by organizing your spices, your kids snacks, and I even use the containers to hold our Tea and coffee items. (Including my Husbands hot chocolate.)
They are so many ways you can use these clear containers in your kitchen. Even outside of your kitchen!
What I like the most is that they have an open space handle.
So it’s easier for you to grab the containers in and out of the fridge!

8. Drawer Organizers For Your Utensils & Cutlery
Have you notice that your spoons and forks tend to go missing a lot? Even without leaving the house for days?
You feel like someone is coming in just to take your spoons at night leaving you with none?
I found that using a drawer organizers for your utensils will a) limit the amount of missing spoons and forks go missing b) knowing exactly where each set of cutlery goes.
No one likes to dig through a drawer with a bunch of utensils scattered around. It can get very overwhelming.
Drawer organizers will help you see which utensils are missing and no more searching for a spatula in that messy drawer.
9. A Basket For All Those Plastic Bags
Majority of stores have begun using brown paper bags or reusable bags.
Although we may encounter that one store that still uses plastic bags.
We don’t want to throw them in the garbage where they will end up in some landfill buut we weren’t sure where to store them.
What we found that works is a plastic bag holder. Anytime we get a plastic bag we just fold it and place it inside our bag holder.
I no longer have a large bag full of other plastic bags hanging on my cupboard handle.
10. NO Junk Drawers!!
This is a very big no no.
To keep your kitchen organize you must get rid of the junk drawer!
Why?
A junk drawer is basically used to store well, junk.
The point of organizing your place is that each item has a home and if it doesn’t have a home or you cannot find it a home then it’s time to let it go.
Getting rid of our junk drawer has allowed us to use that drawer for other things.
In addition, to knowing if we really want to keep that item then we gotta find a place for it.
11. Storage Containers for Cleaning Supplies
Keeping my kitchen cleaning supplies in the kitchen is so much easier than storing them inside of our linen closets.
You can go to the Dollar store and find storage containers that can fit your cleaning supplies in.
Most likely you’ll need 2-3 containers depending on the amount of cleaning supplies you have.
TIP: Go with plastic containers to easily clean!
12. Utensil Holder
Do you notice that you use the same cooking utensils every day?
Instead of always searching for those supplies why not place them inside a holder?
A utensil holder can hold close to 8 or more kitchen utensils. Such as; spatula, serving spoons, and more.
This limits us going inside our kitchen drawers and making a mess looking for our go to utensils.
Bonus! 13. Ziploc Organizer
I’m the type of person who just nicely stores her ziploc bags in their boxes.
But one day I was on Tiktok and I saw someone using a ziploc ORGANIZER!
It looks so nice and all the bags were not falling out.
If you really want to upscale your kitchen drawers this is it!
This is currently sitting in my amazon shopping cart as we speak!
Overall..
Make your kitchen the way YOU want it to be.
If you need it to be super organized then so be it, or if you need a bit of a mess here and there then that’s fine too.
You want to make your kitchen inviting, not somewhere you want to hide from.
I hope you found all 12 kitchen organization ideas helpful! Now let’s start organizing!
