Moving in with your partner can be a really exciting time during the holidays. This is a great time for both of you to create Christmas Traditions that can turn into long festive memories.
Creating Holiday traditions encourage couples to spend quality time together, and have more date nights in the colder seasons. Here is a list of Christmas traditions you can do as a couple!
How Do You Spend Christmas With Your Partner?
Here are some Christmas traditions you can do together as a couple:
1. Watching Christmas Movies
You can’t go wrong with snuggling on the couch and watching your favorite Christmas movies. Even some classics. To create this date night you would need; favorite snacks, a place to watch your Christmas movies, comfy clothes, and you’re all set!
This is a great opportunity for both of you to choose 1-2 of your favorite Christmas movies. Even the ones from your childhood. I still have a couple of favourite holiday movies I like to watch.
2. Building A Gingerbread House
I have never been a big fan of eating gingerbread cookies, although I do enjoy building gingerbread houses. You can go buy a gingerbread house kit at your local grocery store and use all the items in there. Orr, you can buy some extra candies, and frosting to make it look spectacular.
Play some music, and decorate! A simple but classic Christmas tradition you can both do together.
3. Stocking Stuffer Challenge
This Christmas tradition is a fun way to gift your loved one something. The stocking stuffer challenge is gifting your partner things they enjoy based on; Sight, Seen, Taste, Smell, and Feel. Then you place it inside their stocking.
You’ll pick a day to gift each other. Some gifts can be funny, romantic, or even reflect on a previous memory you both had. I have some great stocking stuffer ideas for men and women to help you.

4. Christmas Lights
This could be putting up Christmas lights around the house or driving by to see Christmas lights. This activity is a great for you both to spend time together.
This can be done between late November to early December. If you don’t want to put up lights or walk around random neighborhoods. Find a light show within your local area!
5. Advent Calendar
An advent calendar can bring the anticipation that Christmas is coming. they’re so many different advent calendars out there that you can get. Some have chocolates and mini items, and even Sephora has advent calendars of mini makeup products.
You can both have similar advent calendars or individual ones. It’s something fun to look forward to each morning until Christmas am I right?
6. Putting Up Your Christmas Tree
What’s a great way to start the holidays by putting up your Christmas tree? Moving in with your partner gives you a chance to decorate your tree just the way you both like it.

7. Wearing Matching Christmas Pajamas
A common tradition my family does is to wear brand-new pajamas to bed on Christmas Eve, and then wear them on Christmas Day. One year my family and I decided to wear matching Christmas pajamas, which was one of my favorite Christmases ever! Everyone looked amazing!
Plus matching pajamas aren’t hard to find, you can find them at Old Navy or at any department store near you. Try it out this year with you and your partner. Maybe wearing matching pajamas can be your next Christmas tradition you start.
8. Host A Christmas Party
This can be with your family, or with your friends. This can be a great holiday tradition for people to look forward to! Everybody can bring a dish, come up with some games, and even participate in White Elephant.
If you don’t know what White Elephant is, it’s when you bring a gift (within a budget), and how it works is the first person who will open the gift and keep it with them. Until the next person unwraps a gift and decides if they want to keep their gift or switch it with someone.
Another alternative is Secret Santa. Everybody chooses a name and has to buy that person a gift. My friends and I use Elfster to set up our Secret Santa game each year. Elfster helps you to figure out who is getting a gift, and you can input your wishlist for your Secret Santa to see.
If you need any gift ideas I have a list of common gifts you can give your friends and family this holiday season!

I’m a big fan of baking like crazy around Christmas time. I am making sugar cookies, muffins, rice Krispie treats, and ginger snap cookies. Oh, the list can go on!
I’m sure you or someone in your family who loves baking during the Holidays does this as well (just go crazy with the treats). Somehow it seems more fun baking during this time.
